This Day

Climbed the Seat as the day began
Walking hand in hand, stepping lightly
Turned around caught the view of town
Firth of Forth background, all worthwhile
And we will meet in the morning
We’ll have all day for talking
And if there’s no chance to find our way
On this day
Time is offered in short supply
As we say goodbye till the next time
And as the years pass we keep our plan
Just as best we can, till today
And we will meet in the morning
We’ll have all day for talking
But if there’s no chance to find our way
On this day
And when it all seemed like hard work
I would put in a good word
Reminded you how we met on this day
And we will meet in the morning
We’ll have all day for talking
And if there’s no chance to find our way
On this day
This day

Down the Road
03:13
|
|||
If you go past the pond on the left, continue down the hill
Flanked by fields and orchards with apples that no one wants to steal
The trees where we once played
Cut back by traffic that nobody had planned for
Watch your step when you go down the road
Round the corner, break into a run and watch how fast she goes
Takes a drink from a puddle she finds, shakes water off her nose
I see the rabbits that she’ll never catch and I know that she’s been
Waiting all day to go down the road
Take the footpath which way you would like, it’s all the same to me
Cross the stream with the rope swing or you can jump, it’s not so far
If you’re path seems blocked you’ll find
There’s always another way around
There is no one to stop you down the road
